Calls for Service Statistics

The Strasburg Police Department began growing with the rate of growth within the town in 2003 when three officers were added, including a School Resource Officer at Strasburg High School.  During this period of time call volume grew by over 400 percent while the size of the Department grew by just over 50 percent.  In 2008 one officer was assigned to the Northwest Regional Drug Task Force and two officers were hired as Criminal Investigators.  A School Resource Officer remains at Strasburg High School.  During this ten year period of time the town grew from a population of 4,000 to about 6,300.  The Strasburg Police Department responds to as many calls and makes more criminal arrests than every other town in Shenandoah County combined, while they have 32 officers combined, to Strasburg’s 20 officers.
