What's My Zoning?

The Planning and Zoning Department frequently receives inquiries from residents, business owners, and real estate professionals about what a particular parcel of land is zoned.  This page has been created in order to make this information more easily accessible.

How do I find my zoning?

There are several ways to find out what a property is zoned:

1.  View the Town's official zoning map and locate your property.

2.  Email the Town Planner, Judson Rex.

3.  Call the Town Planner at 540-465-9197.

4.  Text your name and the property address to the Town Planner at 540-481-6138.

What does my zoning mean?

Each zoning district has specific regulations on permitted land uses, setbacks, and building height.  For example, if you live in the R-2 zone you may use your land for single-family dwellings, schools, churches, parks, and playgrounds.  Other uses may be allowed with a special use permit which must be approved by the Town Council.  For details about the specific regulations within your zoning district click on the following links:
