2009 Public Works Projects
Pavement Marking
The Public Works Department is refreshing the pavement marking throughout the Town. Some new markings are being installed at intersections to identify lanes and where to stop.
Curb Painting
Current yellow curbs (no parking zones) are being repainted. There are some previously unpainted curbs that are being painted to indcate intersection corners where parking is not allowed per State law.
Curb and Gutter
The Walton Street curb and gutter project is completed. The Public Works Department would like to thank residents of the area for the patience during this improvement project.
Sidewalks
Sidewalk has been installed on the south side of Orchard Street extending to Franklin Street. New ADA ramps have also been constructed at South Holiday Street and Ram Drive.
Park
The Strasburg River Walk (walking trail) was completed earlier this year. A ribbon cutting ceremony took place during the Mayfest activities to officially open the trail.
Utility Meters
The meter crew has been updating the water meters to include new radio-read equipment. This is an ongoing project throughout the Town.
Sewer
The sewer crew has completed three (3) new taps so far this year. In addition, the crew resolved a total of 54 sewer main backups.
Water
The water crew has performed two (2) new taps so far this year. They have repaired five water leaks and assisted on one major water leak.
