The Town is fortunate to have Mr. Coggsdale join the Town, as he has experienced success at both the County and Town government level. During the interview process, we were impressed with his ability to relate to Council and the Strasburg community."

The Town conducted a broad search for the new Town Manager. There were numerous applications and the Council interviewed five (5) candidates.

Before joining the Town of Altavista, Coggsdale was Assistant County Administrator for Southampton County, VA (1992-2005). Previously he worked as an Administrative Assistant/Transit  ana&er (1990-1992) for Bluefield, WV.

Coggsdale said: "I am honored and humbled that the Town Council have entrusted me with this responsibility as their next Town Manager.
